NFL Free Agency: 30 worst free agency signings this century

5. Worst NFL free agency signings this century: Javon Walker
Anyone who gets nostalgic and likes to reminisce about the early 2000s era of NFL football will likely remember the way Brett Favre used to play the game. He was one of the most excitable quarterbacks who won the game with his rocket arm and incredible risk-taking.
During that time, one of his favorite targets was Javon Walker. He was Favre’s teammate from 2002 to 2005 with his best stretch coming in 2003 and 2004.
After recording nine touchdowns in 2003, Walker became the unquestioned go-to receiver the next year and he completely lit things up for the Packers. Walker had 89 receptions for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns, all of which were career-highs. Unfortunately, he followed that year up with a torn ACL and played just one game in 2005.
He never suited up for the Packers again, as Walker was traded to the Denver Broncos during the 2006 NFL Draft. He inked a five-year deal with the Broncos, but things went south for him after an off-field incident.
Following a strong 2006 campaign, Walker saw teammate Darrent Williams get shot and killed in front of him. He never seemed the same after that, as Walker had just 26 receptions in eight games for Denver in 2007.
After being released, the Oakland Raiders came calling and gave Walker another huge contract, which was worth up to $55 million. He managed just 15 catches before ending his first season with Oakland on Injured Reserve. Walker lasted just one more season with the Raiders but had no receptions in three games.
