2019 NFL Draft: Names to keep an eye on at NFL Combine
By Cory Kinnan
Offensive Line
This offensive line class has multiple prospects that project as first round picks, including Yodny Cajuste, Greg Little and Jawaan Taylor. In my latest first round mock draft, six were snatched up. However, the three linemen with the most to prove later this month at the Combine are listed below.
Andre Dillard, Washington State
Another offensive lineman who has the potential to sneak his way into the first round is Andre Dillard. The Washington State product parlayed a solid senior season into an invitation to the Senior Bowl, where he went down to Mobile and continued to impress.
Dillard is also listed at 6-5 and 310 pounds, giving him a good frame for an offensive lineman in the NFL. Similar to Risner, Dillard has a chance to push his draft stock up further with an impressive performance at the Combine.
Dalton Risner, Kansas State
It’s in his name. Dalton Risner’s stock is on the rise heading into the combine. Showing the versatility at Kansas State to play every position on the line of scrimmage, Risner could be an instant plug-and-play for one lucky NFL team.
The Big 12 product, measuring at 6-5 and 310 pounds could continue to increase his draft stock with a solid display of strength and footwork in Indianapolis. Sitting right at the butt-end of the first round or the beginning of the second, Risner has the potential to impact his case significantly at the Combine.
Jonah Williams, Alabama
From seeing his name as the first overall pick in mocks throughout the season to this point in the pre-draft process, Jonah Williams’ name has slowly been slipping down draft boards. An impressive Combine would help Williams get back in the good favors of NFL scouts and general managers tremendously.
From being absolutely dominated by Clelin Ferrell in the national championship game, to now question marks about his size and whether or not he projects better as a guard (Williams weighs in right at 300 pounds, on the smaller side for NFL tackles), Williams will have to make the trip to Indianapolis with answers for NFL teams.
