By Cory Kinnan
The Seattle Seahawks enter the offseason with about $52.7 million in cap space and only four picks in the upcoming draft. How will they choose to spend their money?
After a surprising season where many expected that the Seattle Seahawks were on the verge of deconstructing their Super Bowl contending roster, the team was able to sneak into the playoffs with a 10-6 record before losing to the Dallas Cowboys in the wild card round. However, the team discovered a potential star in Chris Carson while also re-signing speedy wide out Tyler Lockett, who had a breakout year and showed great production.
Heading into the 2019 offseason, the Seahawks still have a plethora of holes along the offensive line that need to be addressed as well as the secondary as it appears that Earl Thomas will depart a year after fellow Legion of Boomers Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman. With only four draft picks, the team is going to have to lure free agents to Seattle to fill the majority of these holes.
With their window open as long as Russell Wilson is the team’s quarterback, the Seahawks must continue to build around him while filling in holes of the defensive side of the ball as well. With about $52 million in cap space, here are some cost effective names as well as some potential big name targets that Seattle should consider during free agency.
