TE Jared Cook

In 2019, it looked like the Seahawks had finally found a starting tight end in Will Dissly that was until he suffered a devastating patella injury in only the fourth game of his career. While he is expected back by training camp and the team is excited about his potential, the Seahawks should still pursue a productive veteran to fill in on a short term basis.

At the age of 31, Jared Cook had the best year of his career with the tenth year of his career, a year where he caught 68 passes for just about 900 yards and six scores. As tight ends tend to be Wilson’s safety blanket, a consistent one is needed in Seattle as the team only got 412 yards and a total of six scores out of backup tight ends Ed Dickson and Nick Vannett after Dissly went down.

In the past few seasons, we have seen tight ends such as Trey Burton and Charles Clay demand $7-8 million annually. While Cook is entering the market at the age of 31 and coming off of a contract that netted him right around $5.5 million annually, expect him to get a deal in that same range.
