The Arizona Hotshots look to remain one of the most dominant teams in the AAF as they take on the struggling Memphis Express on Saturday night.
In the inaugural week of the AAF, the Arizona Hotshots looked like they could potentially be the class of The Alliance. They put up 38 points in their victory and, despite that being only the second-highest total of Week 1, it was perhaps the most impressive overall display of offense. And, on Saturday in Week 2, they go to take on a team in the Memphis Express that looked to be on the opposite end of the spectrum in their opener.
While the Hotshots were lighting their opponents up, Christian Hackenberg and the Memphis Express were looking downright abysmal. The former Jets second-round pick looked as awful as ever as the Memphis offense was completely anemic. To make matters worse, the defense wasn’t much better as they lost 26-0 in that season-opener. On both sides of the ball, they need a major boost from what they got just last week.
In truth, the Arizona Hotshots defense wasn’t terribly impressive in their Week 1 win. However, John Wolford and the offense indeed were as they were explosive in every sense. The hope is that they can continue to ride their scoring wave against Memphis while also seeing their defense could get a big boost of confidence.

To put it bluntly, there was no team in the AAF less impressive than the Memphis Express in Week 1. They certainly have to be hoping that they can put forth a more respectable effort on Saturday night. Given what the Arizona Hotshots looked like, however, that could be an extremely tall task. We’ll see how things transpire on Saturday night.
