Do Kliff Kingsbury and Josh Rosen have the necessary chemistry to make the Arizona Cardinals winners in 2019?

The Arizona Cardinals own the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. They are also starting the 2019 season with a new head coach, Kliff Kingsbury. Kingsbury will join quarterback Josh Rosen, who the team drafted in the first round in 2018. However, that hasn’t stopped people from talking about Kyler Murray and the Cardinals in the 2019 draft.

There has been talk about Kingsbury’s comments on Murray last fall. After the Cardinals hired Kingsbury as the new head coach in January. However, Kingsbury’s comments have come back to haunt him.

In reference to Murray, Charles Power, the OU Insider of 247sports.com reported the following in November:

"“Kyler, he is a freak, man,” Kingsbury said. “I don’t have enough good things to say about him. He’s phenomenal. … I’d take him with the first pick in the draft if I could. I know he’s signed to play baseball, but … I’d take him with the first pick.”"

Well, this opens the door for the biggest elephant to enter into the room. Just how much does Kingsbury want Murray as his quarterback? Also, how is Rosen suppose to react to those comments?

Remember Rosen was very upset that he slid in last year’s NFL Draft. He saw himself as a top quarterback, if not the best, in the draft. He definitely wears his emotions on his sleeve.

Currently, Kingsbury is walking back his previous comments. In an effort to show unity and loyalty, he expressed his commitment to Rosen as the starting quarterback. Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com reports:

"“Our feelings toward Josh haven’t waned or changed,” Kingsbury said. “I get that we have the first pick … But Josh is our guy.”"

Do Kingsbury and Rosen have the necessary chemistry to turn the Cardinals into winners? Rosen appears to have the burning desire to prove everybody wrong in passing on him in the draft. Baker Mayfield was blocked by Kingsbury in his attempt to transfer to the University of Oklahoma.

Rosen’s personality is similar to Mayfield’s. They are strong willed and have a perpetual chip on their shoulder. Can Kingsbury coach another Mayfield type of personality?

Let’s just ponder this situation, just before the draft, someone offers Arizona their No. 1 draft pick for Rosen. Perhaps Bill Belichick is interested in making Rosen, Tom Brady’s replacement. Would the Cardinals make that deal?

Kingsbury is saying all the right things about Rosen. The Cardinals organization say that Rosen is the quarterback. Has anyone heard a word from Rosen?
