Oakland Raiders: 5 Moves to improve in 2019 offseason
By Cory Kinnan
The Oakland Raiders had an abysmal first season under old/new head coach Jon Gruden, here are five moves this offseason that would improve and benefit the team in the long run.
Right now, the Oakland Raiders have a roster full of aging veterans and underperforming players on big contracts. What is more baffling is that the young, productive players on the roster, not the older players, were the ones mentioned most in trade rumors throughout the season.
Last offseason, we saw Jon Gruden and company make plenty of moves that included trading Khalil Mack, cutting Michael Crabtree, trading for Martavis Bryant and signing Jordy Nelson. If there is one thing that Raider Nation can expect from ole Chucky, it is that this offseason should not lack excitement and intrigue.
While the Raiders are a few years away from competing with the likes of the Chiefs or the Chargers, there are moves that need to be made this offseason to shed big contracts and add some much needed talent to the roster.
With holes along the defense and at playmaking positions on offense, it is evident that the Raiders must make moves in order to upgrade their roster. From free agency, to trades, to draft day deals, here are five moves that the Raiders need to make in order to gain credibility amongst the fans and the rest of the NFL.
