Pierre Desir, Cornerback – 28 years old

When Pierre Desir was a prospect in the 2014 NFL Draft I felt the Chicago Bears should pick him. He was projected to go in the second round, but, partly because he came from a small school and partly because he was a raw talent, he fell to the fourth round to the Cleveland Browns.

Even with his abilities, the Bears decided to pass on him. multiple times

I was at Da Windy City back then and I wrote how he’d be a good pick for the Bears. While he was raw, he had the ability to be a good corner. Just as advertised, he started out slowly, playing in just five games in his rookie season. He then bounced around, playing for the Chargers then the Indianapolis Colts.

With the Colts in 2018, things started to click for Desir. He recorded 79 tackles (a career high) and eight passes defended. In addition to playing both left and right corner, he also played slot corner and even linebacker as well. Again, if you notice a pattern here, Desir gives the Bears some flexibility. He can move around the field to help the defense.

After seeing his 2018 season, it could be that Desir finally figured things out and is just hitting his prime.
