New York Jets: Most notable player to wear each number

71. Kerry Jenkins

Another interior offensive lineman who played his entire career in New York with the Jets, Kerry Jenkins was a key piece to the offensive front-five from 1997-2003. After two seasons playing in a reserve role, Jenkins started for the Jets his final five seasons with the team. He retired following the 2003 season.

72. Chris Ward

With only a career of seven years, Chris Ward played his first six for the Jets and served as New York’s starter at the left tackle position from 1978-83. He would play one more season in New Orleans before retiring in 1984. Ward started 87 games for the Jets and while he was not a Pro Bowler, he provided a solid wall for Jets’ quarterbacks for six seasons.

73. Joe Klecko

Joe Klecko played eleven seasons for the Jets from 1977-87 as a key piece on their defensive front. Klecko played one season in Indianapolis in 1988, and followed that season by hanging up his cleats and calling it a career.

During his time in the Big Apple, Klecko has proved to be one of the best defensive linemen in franchise history. He was named to four Pro Bowls and was named an all-pro in both the 1981 and 1985 seasons. He finished his time with the Jets with 24 sacks.

74. Nick Mangold

Nick Mangold, the former first round pick in 2009 and Ohio State Buckeye, became a perennial Pro Bowler at center for the Jets and played all 11 seasons of his career in New York before hanging up the cleats this past seasons after a year off with no calls from other teams. Mangold finished his career as a seven time Pro Bowler and was named as an all-pro in back-to-back seasons in 2009-10. He is a future Hall of Famer to dawn the Jets uniform in Canton.

75. Winston Hill

Winston Hill gave the Jets 14 seasons of high caliber offensive tackle play from 1963-76 as he was named to eight Pro Bowls in that span. After he spent a decade and a half in New York, Hill moved from east coast to west coast and spent one season in Los Angeles with the Rams in 1977 before retiring after that season.
