36. Jim Leonard

After stints in both Buffalo and Baltimore, Jim Leonard came to New York and became their starting safety for three seasons from 2009-11. After departing New York, he then had short stays in Denver, back in Buffalo, and his last season in Cleveland before retiring after the 2014 season.

During his 40 games started with the Jets, Leonard tallied three picks, three forced fumbles and 11 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. He finished his career with 14 total interceptions and one returned for six.

37. Mike Zordich

Joining the Jets as a rookie, Mike Zordich only stuck around in New York for two seasons before spending five seasons with the Phoenix Cardinals and then five more with the Philadelphia Eagles for the years 1987-98. While he tallied 20 interceptions and three touchdowns throughout his 12-year NFL career, he managed only one pick and returned it for six while wearing the gang green.

38. Yeremiah Bell

The longtime Miami Dolphin and Pro Bowl safety Yeremiah Bell signed with the division rival Jets in 2012 after eight years in South Beach. Granted it was at the end of his career, he is the most notable player to wear 38 for the Jets; he would only play one season for New York before heading to the desert for a year before retiring.

While Bell finished his career with eight picks and nine forced fumbles, he managed only 89 tackles and two passes defended in 16 games started.

39. Danny Woodhead

Who could forget the infamous moment when Danny Woodhead was cut from the Jets on Hard Knocks only to sign with the New England Patriots and win a Super Bowl? After leaving the Jets, Woodhead went on to have a shortened, but productive career with the Chargers and Ravens in addition to the two AFC East teams mentioned above.

With the Jets, Woodhead managed only 151 total yards and no scores in two seasons with the team. He finished his career as a dual threat back and 32 total touchdowns.

40. James Hasty

The long time defensive back James Hasty played in the league for a total of 14 years, and spent the first half of his career in New York with the Jets. He then went on to play for the Chiefs and Raiders after his departure.

Hasty finished his time in the Big Apple with 24 interceptions, six forced fumbles and 18 fumble recoveries. He finished his career with 45 total picks in 14 seasons.
