Two new staffs get to work as the New York Jets look for an edge rusher and the Cleveland Browns get defensive in this two-round 2019 NFL Mock Draft

There were a lot of changes to the coaching staffs all around the NFL as eight different teams will be heading into the year with new head coaches. While not every one of those shot callers will have final say over personnel, they should all have plenty of input during the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft as their rosters are built.

For teams like the Miami Dolphins who hired a defensive guy in Brian Flores, that side of the ball could be where they look. Conversely, Bruce Arians of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might want to lean towards an offensive player since that’s really his forte. However, this isn’t a golden rule as the needs for each of those teams could trump the coaches philosophy.

Take the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns as examples. Adam Gase is the new boss for Gang Green, but they just drafted a quarterback last season so they could be looking to get a defensive star in this draft — namely an edge rusher considering how they struggled there in 2018.

The Browns are a team that could go either way. Freddie Kitchens won the job by showing off his play-calling skills as the interim offensive coordinator for Cleveland. He could lean on general manager John Dorsey to land him more weapons on offense, or he could try and shore up a defense that needs some help at tackle and possibly linebacker.

Now with all that being said, let’s jump into the latest 2019 NFL Mock Draft where the first two rounds will be predicted, starting with the Arizona Cardinals.
