12. Green Bay Packers: Jachai Polite, EDGE, Florida

The Green Bay Packers made an interesting hire when they chose Matt LaFleur to be their head coach. LaFleur has a great background as a quarterback guru and helped many players have their best seasons ever. And his range was wide as he helped dual-threats such as Robert Griffin III as well as traditional pocket passers like Matt Ryan.

Now, he will try and help Aaron Rodgers get back to the big game as he enters the later stages of his impressive career. With such a strong offensive background, LaFleur will surely be heavily involved with that unit while he will probably defer much of the defense to Mike Pettine.

While some may not agree with keeping Pettine, it really was a good move by LaFleur. It kept some consistency on that side and gave him an idea of what to expect. Now, with the first of their two picks in Round 1, the Packers decide it’s time to start getting some elite, and young, talent on defense.

This leads them to Jachai Polite, the Florida edge rusher who tore up the SEC in 2018. Polite had 11 sacks and 19.5 tackles for a loss as he climbed from a relatively unknown player to one of the top pass rushers in the game.
