27. Oakland Raiders (via Dallas Cowboys): Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

The third pick in the opening round for the Oakland Raiders comes courtesy of the Dallas Cowboys. Originally, this seemed like the Raiders were getting a steal. Amari Cooper had a slow start to the season and Dallas was in line for a top-10 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Then, things completely turned around for both Cooper and the Boys.

Dallas went from a 3-5 record to 10-6 and won the NFC East in the process. As for Cooper, he had a resurgence and wound up making the Pro Bowl after finishing the season with more than 1,000 yards through the air. Both the team’s improvement after adding him, and the performance of Cooper, silenced the masses who thought Dallas overpaid. Even the Raiders seem to realize that they gave up a lot of talent, but they try to make it right by bringing in a new playmaker here in Marquise Brown.

The cousin of All-Pro wideout Antonio Brown, Marquise became a star at the University of Oklahoma. Over the past two seasons, he had 2,413 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’s a big play waiting to happen and has also proven he’s willing to work hard for what he wants as he paid his way through junior college by working at a theme park before catching on with the Sooners.

He’s not the prototypical No. 1 receiver in terms of size, but he’s going to be a star at the next level and Oakland can use his game-changing speed on offense.
