49. Cleveland Browns: Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State

This is a pick for the future as Jeffery Simmons could miss most of — if not all of — 2019 after tearing his ACL in training. Once projected as an early first-round pick, the Browns get a player at a position of need at a bargain price here. The key is, they have the cap space to sign a veteran for one season to fill in while they let Simmons heal and then take the job full-time in 2020 and beyond.

50. Minnesota Vikings: Brian Burns, EDGE, Florida State

Strong defensive teams stay that way by stockpiling talent. The Minnesota Vikings know this as they drafted Danielle Hunter despite having Everson Griffen and Brian Robison. Now they do the same as they select Brian Burns, despite having Griffen and Hunter. In a couple of years, this kid will be a starter as they keep bringing in strong players on the edges.

51. Tennessee Titans: Daniel Jones, QB, Duke

For years now, the Titans offense has underperformed. They keep switching out play callers and adding weapons, but the problem persists. It’s time to admit it could be Marcus Mariota, who is also unreliable in terms of his durability. Daniel Jones could sit behind him for a season or two and will eventually take over.

52. Pittsburgh Steelers: Beau Benzschawel, OG, Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Badgers do nothing but send great offensive line talent into the NFL. Beau Benzschawel is one of many more who is set to play for a number of years in the NFL. The Steelers add him in the early 50s as they get someone to help plug up the interior of the line.
