7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

The last time the Jacksonville Jaguars took a quarterback out of Missouri, things didn’t go so well. That was back in 2011 when they took Blaine Gabbert with the No. 10 overall pick and he proceeded to become a big bust. Gabbert played just three seasons with the Jags and was 5-22 while throwing 24 picks and 22 touchdowns.

That may lead some to cringe if they do take another Missouri product like Drew Lock, but these two players have nothing in common outside of the helmet they wore in college. Gabbert was a player who had limited production and was taken mostly due to projection — and people loving his “NFL size.”

As for Lock, this kid is the real deal. He had a sensational junior season throwing for 3,964 yards and 44 touchdowns against 13 picks. He returned for his senior year and while his yardage (3,498) and touchdowns (28) decreased, he did throw fewer interceptions (eight) while also upping his completion percentage from 57.8 percent in 2017 to 62.9 percent i 2018.

He has everything you want in a starting quarterback as he has the arm strength and decision making of a professional. On top of that, he’s listed at 6-4 and 225 pounds, showing he also has the build teams like — along with actual production.
