1. Green Bay can afford to give up a first-round pick

After only winning six games all of last season, the Packers will see their first selection at No. 12 towards the end of April when the NFL Draft officially gets underway. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, Green Bay also has an additional selection at No. 30 thanks to a trade with the New Orleans Saints last year, meaning they will have two picks to work with on opening night.

What does this mean in regards to Brown? Well, in most circumstances, teams prefer to hang on to their first-round pick to avoid missing out on adding new potential talent to the roster, but since the Packers would still have an additional draft pick if they were to use one in a potential trade involving Brown, this could be perfect.

A best-case scenario involving the Packers still having a first-round pick to use in April on top of acquiring Brown almost sounds too good to be true for a team like Green Bay.

So if the Packers really wanted to boost their chances of becoming one of the most serious threats in the NFC once again by acquiring Brown, they need to take an aggressive approach by reaching out to the Steelers as soon as possible.
