Round 2, Pick 17: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

Those who kept an eye on the Senior Bowl this year will know the name Deebo Samuel. The South Carolina receiver had a terrific set of practices in Mobile, Alabama, and helped his stock tremendously during Senior Bowl week. At 6-0, 209 pounds, Samuel has good size for a receiver with his skillset.

During the 2018 season, Samuel had his breakout year. Catching 62 passes for 882 yards and 11 touchdowns, Samuel showed just how explosive he can be on the field. Not to mention, his reputation as a return man speaks for itself, as Samuel set the school record with four kick return touchdowns during his career with the Gamecocks.

The second round might be the sweet spot for the Browns to pull a trigger on a receiver in this class. John Dorsey has never drafted a receiver in the first round, and he probably isn’t going to start in 2019. But pairing up an explosive, shifty receiver like Samuel with Baker Mayfield might be a match made in heaven.
