Round 7, Pick 4: John Cominsky, DL, Charleston

Another small school prospect is a former college quarterback turned defensive lineman in John Cominsky from the University of Charleston (WV). Originally from Akron, OH, Cominsky is listed at a massive 6-5 and 275 pounds, playing defensive end at the collegiate level.

More from Las Vegas Raiders

Cominsky received a Senior Bowl invite and had a chance to show that he could compete against guys from Power 5 schools, Division I competition and at the next level in the NFL. After his trip down to Mobile, AL, he was invited to participate in the Combine later this month in Indianapolis — a huge opportunity for a Division II athlete to improve his draft stock.

While he finished his redshirt senior season with only three sacks, Cominsky posted an impressive 16.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and forced two fumbles from his 3-tech defensive end position.

This small school prospect has a huge opportunity to test with the likes of Rashan Gary and Nick Bosa. While he is not expected to test at the level of these two, Cominsky can show that he has the athleticism to compete with these big named prospects.
