Round 1, Pick 27: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

This pick remains the same for the Raiders from this writer’s first mock draft for the team and they address their linebacking core in desperate need of some talent next to Tahir Whitehead. While the team does have youngsters Nick Morrow, Marquel Lee and Jason Cabinda at the position on the roster, the team would prefer not to use any of the three in a starting role moving forward.

Devin Bush may still be available here with the 27th pick as he is considered a fringe first rounder at this point. But in a weak linebacker class, he could always fall in the top 20 as well to a linebacker needy team. But here, the Raiders use all three of their first round picks to address the defensive side of the ball, because, you know, defense wins championships.

Bush is athletically gifted and will go to Indianapolis later this month and likely test off of the charts, and it would not be a shock to see teams fall in love with him. The Raiders need an upgrade at the linebacker position, and Bush would be a perfect fit and carries a gritty attitude that the Raiders tend to associate themselves with.
