Round 4: Lil’Jordan Humphrey, WR, Texas

Lil’Jordan Humphrey is a nice addition to the Jaguars receiving corps. Humphrey would be another big body pass catcher in this mock draft. He stands six feet four inches tall weighing 225 pounds.

At Texas, he caught 125 passes for 1,622 yards with 10 touchdowns. He averaged 13 yards per reception which moves the chains. Jacksonville needs big receivers to make plays against smaller defensive backs.

Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com briefly discussed Humphrey. Campbell reports the following:

"Humphrey is a gritty receiver who is dangerous for yards after the catch. He is a fighter with some junk-yard dog in him who will run through tackles and get physical with cornerbacks… sources say they think Humphrey has real upside…Humphrey will use his size to go up and win on contested catches. He is a heavier receiver and put together well."

Humphrey could possibly be moved to tight end in goal line formations. His physicality would pay dividends on fade routes inside the red zone. The Jaguars do not have that type of receiver on their current roster.

Humphrey’s coach at Texas, Tom Herman, has very good things to say about him. Chuck Carlton of Sports Day.DallasNews.com quoted the head coach:

"“He’s our best player,” Herman said … “I don’t think anybody would blink or anybody on that offense think any differently. He’s just so versatile and he’s so aggressive.”"

Jacksonville does not have a fifth round selection.
