Let’s take a look at 30 NFL quarterbacks who didn’t exactly watch their careers get off to the best of starts, but improved after leaving their first team.

These days, it’s tough for any NFL player to spend their entire career with one team. Sooner or later, some players either become too expensive to keep around or get up their with age, especially when it comes to the quarterback position.

Whether it was Drew Brees joining the New Orleans Saints after all the amazing years on the then-San Diego Chargers or Rich Gannon finally living up to the hype after joining the Oakland Raiders, the NFL has seen plenty of great quarterbacks improve after leaving their first team.

However, when it comes to the best stories of all-time related to quarterbacks getting better after leaving the first team they played for, it’s tough to top the story of one a player who will always be considered one of the all-time greats in Brett Favre.

Had the Atlanta Falcons known what kind of career Favre would put together, they never would have given up on him after only one season, even if it was impossible to predict what he would go on to accomplish during the 16 years spent in with the Green Bay Packers.

Clearly, Favre is a special kind of player. One can only imagine how different the history of the Packers would be if he never came into the picture all the way back in 1992. He provided fans with plenty of amazing memories throughout his career.
