18. Trent Green

St. Louis Rams fans will forever remember Trent Green as the potential starter for the team who got injured early on before the 1999 season could even get underway. This led to Kurt Warner filling in and leading the team to winning Super Bowl XXXIV.

History has a funny way of working out sometimes. No matter how hard some football fans try to argue the Rams could have still managed to win it all with Green, there’s no way this would have ever happened without Warner.

Eventually, St. Louis would trade Green to the Kansas City Chiefs before the start of the 2001 season. After two decent years, the quarterback would finally breakout in 2003 with a Pro Bowl season.

After stints with the Washington Redskins and Rams to begin his career, Green seemed to finally be coming into his own as the quarterback for the Chiefs. He finished that first Pro Bowl season with a 13-3 record, while throwing for 4,039 yards to go along with 24 touchdown passes.

Green never got to add another Super Bowl ring to his collection, but at least after winning with the Rams during the 1999 season, it was better than nothing for the former eighth-round pick.
