16. Ron Jaworski

Known by most football fans as “Jaws”, not many people remember that Ron Jaworski started off his NFL career as a member of the Los Angeles Rams for three seasons before he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles before the 1977 season.

While it should be noted that Jaworski went 3-0 during his time with the Rams, the fact that he only saw action in three games over a three-year span shows his career never really took off until joining the Eagles.

Going 5-9 that first season in Philadelphia was disappointing for obvious reasons, but it was the next four years Eagles fans would always remember the most.

As impressive as it was to go 42-22 with the Eagles, Jaworski’s biggest accomplishment in Philadelphia was arguably helping the team reach the Super Bowl during the 1980 season, their first appearance in franchise history.

Defeating the Oakland Raiders instead of coming up short in Super Bowl XV would have made Jaworski’s legacy in the City of Brotherly Love way more memorable. At least he will always be an all-time favorite of Eagles fans.

The final five years for Jaws in Philadelphia can best be described as mostly disappointing, but at least nothing can take away from the exciting 1978 to 1981 seasons.
