26. Case Keenum

Between spending time with the Houston Texans along with the then-St. Louis Rams (one year in Los Angeles), Case Keenum has struggled to find a permanent home in the NFL throughout his playing career.

Even after filling in for Sam Bradford during the 2017 season before helping the Minnesota Vikings reach the NFC Championship, the team still decided to move on from the quarterback in the offseason to make room for Kirk Cousins.

As a result, Keenum would sign with the Denver Broncos the following year. He seems to be on the verge of finding a new home again after the team agreed to acquire Joe Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens. But instead of going into more details about that trade, let’s talk about the best season of Keenum’s career that took place during the run to the NFC Championship Game.

With all due respect to Keenum, never in a million years did any football fan imagine that Keenum would be in the MVP conversation. That was exactly the case in 2017 after watching him toss 22 touchdown passes with just seven interceptions.

One can only imagine how different things would have been if Keenum and the Vikings did in fact win the Super Bowl that season. They most likely would have kept him around, but at least it helped the former Houston Cougars star earn a boatload of money in his next contract.
