Here are five potential landing spots for Michael Crabtree following the news surrounding the plans of the Baltimore Ravens to release the veteran wideout.
Around this time last year, Michael Crabtree was dealing with the decision by the Oakland Raiders to basically replace him with Jordy Nelson at wide receiver before the former first-round pick would go on to sign with the Baltimore Ravens.
Now, it looks like Crabtree finds himself in a similar situation from almost a year ago in which he will be looking for another team to join for the 2019 season.
The Ravens announced their plans on Monday to move on from Crabtree after just one season, which shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise since he really wasn’t that great of a fit on offense for Baltimore once Lamar Jackson took over under center for Joe Flacco.
For a player who will turn 32 in September, some teams will be hesitant to bring on a player with only two 1,000-yard seasons in his career at this stage in his career, but also there will be a handful of teams confident enough that he could be a great fit.
Looking at Crabtree’s career, the best fit for his next team seems like joining an offense in which he could be a reliable No. 2 wideout, as it should also be noted that it wasn’t too long ago in which he caught 25 touchdown passes from 2015-17.
Now that Crabtree is no longer a member of the Ravens, here are five teams that immediately come to mind who should strongly consider bringing him on board for the 2019 season to put them in better position to compete.
