3 Running backs for Chicago Bears to consider in 2019 NFL Draft
1. Bryce Love, Stanford
Bryce Love burst on the scene during his junior season in Palo Alto with one of the best running back seasons of all time. He would have been one of the higher-ranked running backs in last year’s class, but he chose to return to school for his final year. It didn’t end up working out for him, as he played only 10 games, and he totaled only 739 yards on the ground. Love wasn’t the best at breaking tackles, but he was an explosive play waiting to happen.
He’s similar to last years top running back prospect Saquon Barkley in that aspect. Barkley would disappear at times, but it only took him one play to make his impact on the game. This is what Love can be for Nagy and the Bears. If they give him the daylight to make a move or a player miss, he can make special things happen.
Love is also able to pick opposing blitzers. He still has room to grow in that aspect, but he’s better than a lot of running backs at that spot. With Trubisky still developing as a quarterback, having a running back that can keep blitzers off of him, even for just a second can make all the difference in the world. Love is a special talent. If he falls to the Bears with one of their draft picks, they may add him into their mix.
