2014: Morgan Moses – Third Round, 66th overall pick

This was another tough one. Bashaud Breeland is an extremely underrated cornerback who will go on to have a great career. That being said, Morgan Moses has been a main cog in the Washington Redskins offensive line for a few years now. He’s also still on the roster, which means he can continue to make his case (Breeland is with the Green Bay Packers now).

Moses has been the Redskins starting right tackle for the last four years. While he’s had his struggles, he’s a nice compliment to Williams on the other side. Most importantly is his ridiculous toughness. It’s almost a guarantee that Moses will suffer some sort of injury every week. Despite that, he’s played in and started every game for each of the last four seasons.

He’s had his ups and downs, but there was a while where he was considered a top right tackle in football. It’s also important to remember that Moses is only 27 years old. There’s still time for him to improve. That’s scary because due to his size and strength, Moses has a lot of potential.

Both Breeland and Moses were mid-round picks. Breeland was the later of the two, going in the fourth round (102nd overall). Moses went in the third (66th overall). I thought there was no way he would fall to the third, and there he sat. No matter how you look at it, that’s a great value pick. He’s started 64 straight games for the Washington Redskins at right tackle. This has given them some form of consistency on the offensive line, as every other spot has dealt with injuries and poor play.

Moses has shown that, at the best of times, he can be considered one of the better right tackles in football. Although he’s had a few hiccups along the way, it’s hard to discredit him due to that. What really puts him over the top, however, is the value. Getting a starting tackle in the third round is something any team would gladly take. Especially one who still has time to grow and get better.
