With the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine set to begin, here are five players that the Dallas Cowboys should keep their eye on as they seek to stay atop the NFC East

With a record of 10-6 last season, the Dallas Cowboys won the NFC East for the second time in three seasons. They then went 1-1 in the playoffs, but the fact they took the division with one of the youngest rosters in the NFC was highly encouraging.

That’s a testament to the way the front office has been drafting in recent seasons. Ever since vice president of player personnel Will McClay took over as a steadying force in their war room, the results have been better than expected.

They’re now led by homegrown talents such as Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Zack Martin, Jaylon Smith, and DeMarcus Lawrence. They’ve sprinkled in other players via trade like Amari Cooper, formerly of the Oakland Raiders, but for the most part, this team is built through the draft — and that will likely remain the case.

While Dallas is without a first-round pick, they still can make some noise with their day two picks. They could also be in the market to move back into the first, especially considering it’s been a while since they last made a splashy move on draft night.

Whatever they decide to do, the Cowboys will continue to build through the draft, just as they have done over the past few seasons. With players now reporting, and workouts beginning March 1, here are five players at key positions that the Cowboys should keep their eye on in Indianapolis.
