The Indianapolis Colts need an upgrade in the defensive backfield, and these are three names that would be immediate upgrades for them.

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the NFL’s easier teams to predict how they’re going to draft in 2019. General manager Chris Ballard has publicly stated that he wants to build the team’s defense up before he goes about addressing their offensive needs.

They solidified their offensive line last year, and they need to find ways to stop opposing teams on the other side of the ball. One position they could use a pretty significant upgrade is at the cornerback spot.

Their top four corners last year were Pierre Desir, Nate Hairston, Kenny Moore Jr. and Quincy Wilson. Desir is the top of that group, but he is 28 and not a true number one corner. They played well as a group last season, but they will eventually fall down to play at the level they are expected to play at. In order to improve that play, this draft has some players they can go after with guys like these.

This draft isn’t extremely deep at the cornerback position, but it does have a good number of players that could be taken in the first three rounds. The Colts have four picks in the first three rounds, and they could snag at least one impact player in those rounds. If they don’t improve that position this offseason, they aren’t going to improve on last year.

Let’s take a look at three cornerbacks that could help the Indianapolis defense.
