Each NFL team’s worst contract on the books entering 2019

Oakland Raiders: A.J. McCarron
The Oakland Raiders have a lot of work to do this offseason, as they currently have 33 players that are entering free agency. In addition, they have a first-year general manager in Mike Mayock. While he is certainly adept at judging talent entering the draft, it will be interesting to see how he manages the roster in year one.
Head coach Jon Gruden was brought back to bring this team back to the top of the AFC West, but after winning only four games in 2018, changes are coming to the Silver and Black. Gruden has a guaranteed $100 million dollar contract. Luckily for the Raiders, that does not count against the cap.
In all seriousness, the Raiders have to find a way to shed contracts. They may want to part ways with backup quarterback A.J. McCarron, who is slated to make $5 million dollars to sit on the bench next season. Derek Carr is the unquestioned starting quarterback in Oakland. The Raiders could go out and get a cheaper option this offseason.
Oakland traded away two incredible talents this past year, sending Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears and Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys for draft picks. Those moves were made to ensure the cap would not be eaten up by those two players. While their quarterback is the No. 1 cap hit in 2019, their backup cannot be No. 7.
