Each NFL team’s worst contract on the books entering 2019

Dallas Cowboys: Tyrone Crawford
Tyrone Crawford was a second round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2012 NFL Draft, after a solid two-year career at Boise State. The No. 81 overall pick in that draft class, Crawford appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys during his rookie season, before being moved into a starting role in year two.
While Crawford has been a starter for America’s Team for most of his NFL career, he has yet to have the kind of impact the team was hoping he would have through his first seven seasons. He did set a career-high with 5.5 sacks last season, but someone who is getting paid as much as he is should be closer to double-digits than that.
In his career, Crawford has gotten to the quarterback 22 times, despite the fact he has played in over 90 games, and started 74. Crawford has done some nice work for the Cowboys on special teams and has been moved from all around the defensive line. But he is getting paid a ton of money by Dallas, and will cost the team over $10 million against the cap in 2019, which is fifth-highest on the team.
Crawford becomes a lot less expensive for the Cowboys after the 2019 NFL season, as he has a dead cap hit of only $1.1 million. He will be entering his age-30 season in 2020. After an up and down career with the team so far, you have to think the team is going to think long and hard before guaranteeing his $8 million salary for the 2020 campaign.
