The New York Jets gave up a lot for USC quarterback Sam Darnold and now they need to build around him in order to start winning games. Here are five big predictions for the coming 2019 NFL Offseason.

Before the 2018 NFL Draft even kicked off, the New York Jets made a big move as they jumped up from No. 6 to No. 3. In that move, they gave up two second-round picks in 2018 ( the No. 37 and No. 49 selections) as well as their second-round pick in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft.

What seemed odd is at the time, they weren’t guaranteed to get their guy. The Cleveland Browns hadn’t come out and said with 100 percent certainty that they were going to take Baker Mayfield. With that not being a sure-thing, the New York Giants hadn’t been able to confirm they were taking Saquon Barkley at No. 2 — although him being seen in a Giants hat was a strong indication this was all known behind the scenes.

Whether or not the Jets, and the rest of the NFL, knew what would happen to kick off the draft, things worked out for Gang Green. They ended up getting USC quarterback Sam Darnold with their pick and they now have their franchise leader. However, they’re going to have to get a lot of work done in order to build a winner around him.

Due to their trade that sent three picks to the Indianapolis Colts, they’re going to have to be active in free agency to fill some roster holes. With that being said, we predict the five biggest moves that the Jets will make during the 2019 NFL Free Agency period.
