4. New England Patriots

If the goal for Justin Houston is to make as much money as possible, he may want to test the open market and let teams try and wow him with big contracts. If he wants to get over the hump and start playing in championship games, he should see what the New England Patriots think about a pairing.

Currently, New England is considering what it would take to keep Trey Flowers on the roster but they’ve never been afraid of letting a talented player walk. They’ve also never been shy about landing an experienced veteran looking for a run at a title.

They did this in 2016 when they signed Chris Long, the former No. 2 pick of the St. Louis Rams. Long ended up winning a title with the Patriots, after years of struggling in the postseason. Long then went on to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he won another Super Bowl.

Houston, who was on the Chiefs roster that lost in the AFC Title game to New England understands how good this franchise is. And he also should know how much easier the path to a championship would be there — again, all that depends on what he’s looking for at this point in his career.
