In the first full seven-round mock draft since the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, who will the New York Jets select with the third overall pick?

The NFL Combine has come and gone with players seeing their stock rising and falling based on their team interviews and athletic testing. Draft boards have shuffled, and some have been totally blown up by what took place on the field and in interviews with teams. After all this, where do the New York Jets now stand?

After a weekend in Indianapolis, the Jets still have only six picks to play with, and while a trade out from the third overall spot with a quarterback needy team is most likely, that is where New York sits on the board as we speak.

With a desperate need for an upgrade on the offensive side of the ball, specifically the offensive line, it would not be a shock to see most of their picks dedicated to helping out franchise quarterback Sam Darnold. He showed promise as a rookie, but clearly needs a better supporting cast placed around him in the Big Apple.

Other team needs are at edge rusher and at cornerback as well for the Jets, but with only six picks as opposed to over $100 million in cap space available to work with in NFL free agency, expect the majority of upgrades to come through free agency rather than through the draft.

However, with the six picks they do have, it would do general manager Mike Maccagnan well to hit on the majority of them in order to take advantage of the four year window they have before Darnold will demand a large pay raise. With that, let’s get into this full post-combine seven-round 2019 mock draft.
