Round 3, Pick 69: Riley Ridley, WR, Georgia

While Riley Ridley did not have a good combine this weekend, only running a 4.58-second 40-yard dash and hitting only 30 inches on his vertical jump, the third round is good value the 6-1 receiver from the University of Georgia. While he may rebound at his pro day, for now, Ridley sees his stock fall to the third.

With the impending free agency of both Robby Anderson and Jermaine Kearse, the Jets need to get more weapons to surround Darnold with. Again, they have $100 million in cap space, so the Jets may also look at free agency to add to a room that currently consists of Quincy Enunwa and a bunch of scrubs.

Ridley would provide Darnold a good sized outside target to complement Herndon and Enunwa and provide needed depth at the wide receiver position. Ridley finished his career as a Bulldog with over 1,000 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns, 559 yards and nine scores in 2018. While the production was not overly impressive, much of that had to do with the Georgia offense.

Hoping to follow his brother Calvin’s footsteps into the NFL, Ridley still has much to prove at his pro day in order to get back into good favors with general managers and scouts. He lands with the Jets at the top of the third round here.
