17. Cleveland Browns: Montez Sweat, DE, Mississippi State

In case anyone was unaware before the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, defensive end Montez Sweat is an athletic freak. He measured in at 6-5 and 260-pounds and had incredible arm length at 35.75 inches. He then showed off his speed with a blistering 4.41 in the 40-yard dash and added a 125-inch broad jump and 36-inch vertical for good measure.

The question now will be if that translates to the field. He had some doubters throughout his career, but he’s continually put up good numbers while playing against elite SEC opponents. Over the past two seasons, he’s recorded 22.5 sacks and 101 tackles which should be enough to get him drafted high, especially when combined with his freakish athleticism.

Here, he lands with the Cleveland Browns who are reportedly looking to add more length to their defensive line. While the defensive tackle spot is a bigger need, Sweat is the best player on the board right now and can develop into a 10-plus sack per season player. Putting him on the same line as 2017 No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett will give Cleveland a nasty duo pf edge rushers and is sure to keep opposing quarterbacks uneasy in the pocket.
