21. Seattle Seahawks: Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State

We all knew that Hakeem Butler was an intriguing prospect simply because of his size. He’s 6-6 and 227-pounds and has an enormous wingspan. The question was could he run? Sure, he seemed quick enough on film, but the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine usually lets scouts know more about their straight-line speed.

For Butler, he propelled himself up draft boards by running a 4.49, which is incredibly impressive for an athlete of his size. Unfortunately for Butler, he then hurt his stock some by bobbling the ball a lot in later drills which reminded scouts just how raw he is.

He is still a great prospect and did enough to get someone to draft him for that potential. The Seattle Seahawks end up being that team as they can use a player with size on the outside. Putting him in the same receiving room as Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett will give him some great mentors to help as he adapts to the next level.

As for on the field, he can be a factor quickly due to his ability to win contested passes, but the real payoff comes a few years down the road as he develops.
