2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kyler Murray climbs in Post-combine two-round projection

24. Oakland Raiders (via Chicago Bears): Noah Fant, TE, Iowa
Josh Allen replaces Khalil Mack on the roster, and the Raiders hope in production as well one day, and now they’re back on the clock with the selection hey got in exchange for Mack. Originally, Oakland believed they would get a much-higher pick for their former star pass rusher but they ended up making it to the postseason which limits the return on investment.
Still, Oakland lands a playmaker who can help them improve quickly in Noah Fant. The Iowa tight end was constantly compared to Zach Ertz during his workouts at the combine, which is a big compliment. Those comparisons came thanks to the way Fant dominated every drill he touched but he really stood out with his 4.5 second time in the 40-yard dash and 39.5-inch vertical jump.
Fant is the type of tight end that can cause major headaches for defenses. He’s too quick for many linebackers to keep up with and he’s too big for safeties. He also proved to be a red zone threat for the Hawkeyes, racking up 19 touchdown receptions during his final two seasons in the NCAA. He should have no problem continuing to provide that for Oakland as he moves on to the next level.
