26. Indianapolis Colts: Jachai Polite, EDGE, Florida

Next up is the Indianapolis Colts who are starting to build a really strong defense. In 2018, they added Darius Leonard in the second round and he proved to be one of the best rookies to enter the league. The South Carolina State product was credited with 163 tackles and seven sacks with two interceptions as well. As good as he was, there was still room for improvement on defense for Indy — mainly in regards to edge rushers.

Looking for players who can bring the heat in that department, they add Jachai Polite from Florida. Originally looked at as a top-15 talent, Polite hurt his stock slightly during the combine. He seemed to pick out all the negative comments from his interviews, which has reflected poorly on him according to some.

There are also questions now about his attitude and coachability. Even worse, there were concerns about his motor and whether or not he takes plays off. For the Colts, they’re willing to roll the dice at this point as he does have elite potential, they just need to believe they can push it out of him. If so, the legend of general manager Chris Ballard will only begin to grow as he’s quickly building a winner in Indianapolis.
