28. Los Angeles Chargers: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson

The Los Angeles Chargers probably never should have left San Diego. Over the past two seasons in Los Angeles, they’ve had a hard time filling the smallest venue in the league. With that being the case, it feels like the cure-all would be to start winning games. However, they did that in 2018 and still had a hard time putting people in the stands.

Maybe if they continue to add talented players and keep winning it will finally work. At least, that’s really the only thing they can try considering they’re about to be locked into an incredibly expensive shared stadium.

Working toward the goal of becoming a perennial winner, the Bolts add a stud defensive tackle in Dexter Lawrence out of Clemson. The big defensive tackle showed off his strength with 36 bench press reps, but he remains a mystery. He was a much better player as a freshman than the rest of his career and then ended his time in Clemson with a suspension.

Lawrence was one of three Tigers defensive players to miss the college playoffs due to a positive drug test. He claims it was a supplement he didn’t know was banned, but there will be questions asked about this — and surely he has already fielded some at the combine.
