2. George Iloka, S

In a reserve role with the division rival Minnesota Vikings, George Iloka continued to play at a decent level. Luckily for the Bears, the safety market has become very depressed in terms of free agent contracts and it’s crowded in the 2019 offseason, which makes Iloka all the more attainable for them.

Amos had an amazing season, and he will likely be on the move. They can get Iloka to slot in next to Pro Bowler Eddie Jackson for the next couple of years at a discount.

Iloka is just a couple years removed from being one of the best players on the Cincinnati Bengals‘ defense, but he’s a bit on the older side. The Bears could use his veteran presence on the back end to assist younger guys like Jackson and cornerback Kyle Fuller during their development. In addition to being a solid run defender, Iloka has been around the ball a lot in his career, as he has nine career interceptions to go along with 32 career pass breakups.

It’s likely that Iloka is looking for one last decent contract as he nears the end of his prime, but that isn’t guaranteed to come. This is a deep safety class, and there are a lot of good safeties in this year’s draft as well. Iloka hasn’t sniffed any amount of significant success in his career, so he could be willing to take a discount to go with a team that is looking to push for a Super Bowl in the next couple of seasons.
