NFL Free Agency 2019: Predicting the Indianapolis Colts biggest moves
1. Sign WR Golden Tate (Philadelphia Eagles)
Last October, the Detroit Lions dealt wide receiver Golden Tate to the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2018, he finished with 44 catches, good for 517 yards and three scores for the Men from Motown. The highly-productive wideout would total 30 receptions for a modest 278 yards and one score in eight regular-season for Doug Pederson’s team. But he also scored the game-deciding touchdown in the Birds’ playoff win at Chicago.
In nine combined seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, Lions and Eagles, the 2010 second-round pick from Notre Dame has amassed 611 catches for 7,214 yards and 38 scores. He has plenty of postseason experience as well as Tate has reached the playoffs six times, including at least once with each team he’s has suited up for. The 30-year old pro has grabbed at least 60 passes each of the past six seasons.
If Tate indeed becomes available, it would be quite the homecoming of sorts for the former Golden Domer, who would be an excellent complement to big-play performer T.Y. Hilton.
Quarterback Andrew Luck is coming off a season in which he threw for 4,593 yards and 39 scores (15 interceptions). Tate could not only help those numbers go up but he could help the Colts’ attack in so many ways.
