The Chicago Bears have a decision to make on Aaron Lynch. He had a good season in 2018, but once again, the injury bug hit. He missed the final three games of the regular season and the playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He is due to become a free agent and the Bears may not be willing to take another chance on having him play an entire season without missing games because of an injury. He is still just 25 years old so they might, but the injuries are piling up.

Enter Justin Hollins. He has the tools to make an impact on the NFL level but hasn’t put it all together. He is very athletic but scouts look at his motor. He doesn’t always play with the aggression most teams desire. At times he’ll engage in a blocker and not try to shed him quickly enough.

When he does go all out he can explode off the snap and get into the backfield. He keeps his eyes on the backfield as he is getting blocked. He has the agility to slip away from a blocker and the quickness to hunt down the ball carrier. When he’s squared to the blocker he has good hand placement and some power in his punch to move him back.

Hollins can be a pretty good backup. Perhaps now that he’s close to the dream, he can show his true abilities. He impressed many in the Shrine game, being named Defensive MVP. Some players bloom later. If he gets the proper coaching, he can make an impact as a backup and may eventually become a starter.
