Antonio Brown heading to the Oakland Raiders?
By Cory Kinnan
After a bizarre offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers and star Antonio Brown, it seems like the saga may end with the wide receiver heading to the Oakland Raiders.
On Friday evening, disgruntled wide receiver of the Pittsburgh Steelers Antonio Brown took to Instagram Live, and stated that he would be announcing his new team in “a little bit.” It would appear that Brown is quickly on his way out of Pittsburgh any minute now. It would also appear that the new team he is referring to would be the Oakland Raiders.
Later in the Instagram Live session that took place in a weight room, Brown said that he has “got the black and grey on already.” Unless he is going to play in the Alliance of American Football for the Birmingham Iron, the Raiders are the only team in the league with the color scheme of black and grey — well, black and silver, but who really cares.
After a flurry of reports late Thursday night and into early Friday morning that Brown was about to be dealt to the Buffalo Bills, those talks came to an end with no resolution. And Brown took it upon himself to deem these reports “Fake news” via a comment on Instagram.
As it seemed nobody wanted to shell out what the Steelers were asking for the wide receiver, it seemed like Brown’s market had run dry.
While there has been no official report yet on the supposed deal to send Brown to the Bay Area, Dan Fetes of WROC reported last night that Oakland had offered a second and a fourth round pick for Brown’s services. If that is the deal in place, it is apparent that the Steelers have become desperate to move Brown and have settled for a lesser deal.
It remains to be seen whether or not Mr. Big Chest is doing just that, or if there is actual substance to Brown’s makeshift reporting…on Instagram. Look out Raiders fans, you may have a superstar receiver coming your way.
