Round 1, Pick 2: Nick Bosa, EDGE, Ohio State

This pick should not change for the 49ers. If Bosa manages to last longer than the first overall pick, the Niners should run their card to the podium in record speed and make him the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

More from NFL Draft

It was nice to see Bosa healthy at the combine and back on the field after missing the majority of his Junior season. While he did not test off the charts athletically, he looked like the smoothest edge rusher on the field during his positional drills.

While his 40 yard dash ranked in the top 58th percentile of all edge rushers, his 20-yard shuttle was in the top 94th percentile. His initial burst elite, and with his strength and technique this gives him the potential to be the best prospect in this class.

Teaming up with three other first rounders on their defensive line, adding Bosa with the second overall pick would give the 49ers will have a dominant front four for years to come and improve their defense tremendously. If the Cardinals end up taking Kyler Murray or Quinnen Williams with the first overall pick, Bosa should become a 49er in a heartbeat as John Lynch should have a no-brainer on his hands.
