Round 3, Pick 67: Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia

Throwing his hate into the rink of the best safety in this year’s draft class, Juan Thornhill tested off the charts at the combine last weekend. While Jaquiski Tartt had a solid 2018 before an injury ended his season, it may be time to replace Jimmy Ward in the back half of the San Francisco defense.

Thornhill tested in the 99th percentile in both the broad and vertical jump, leaping to the tune of nearly 12 feet and 44 inches, respectively. He followed up leaping out of Lucas Oil Stadium by running a blazing 4.42 40 yard dash, ranking him in the 92nd percentile of all safeties in the class.

Standing at 6-0 and weighing in at 205 pounds, Thornhill also has a good amount of strength behind that athleticism as well, putting up 21 reps on the bench press. Analytically speaking, if you are looking for a safety, Thornill is your guy.

The Niners are in the market for a safety, and who better to add than the athletic and hard hitting Thornhill from the University of Viriginia; with their third round selection, they put him in golden helmets and bring him to the Bay Area in this mock.
