Round 4, Pick 105: Miles Boykin, WR, Notre Dame

There was not a bigger winner of the combine than Miles Boykin last weekend in Indianapolis, and as a result, a late day-three to undrafted prospect now hears his name called in the fourth round.

Analytics are definitely on the side of Boykin as he tested in the 77th percentile in every drill at the combine except for the bench press, and ranking in the 98th and 99th percentile respectively in the vertical and broad jump. Boykin ran a 4.42-second 40 yard dash and ranked in the 86th percentile in the 20-yard shuttle as well.

It remains a mystery how he was unknown in college playing for Notre Dame for four years and failed to make a name for himself before last weekend. Boykin finished his college career with only 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns, but the good news is that 872 yards and eight of those scores came in 2018, so he may just be a late bloomer.

For a team like the Niners who just released veteran Pierre Garcon and only have Dante Pettis and Marquise Goodwin as solid contributors at the wide receiver position on their roster, picking Boykin here in the fourth round could pay big dividends for San Francisco and give Jimmy Garoppolo a new weapon to throw to.
