Tre’Davious White is a legitimate number one cornerback for the Buffalo Bills who can match up against any wide receiver on the outside. On top of that, Levi Wallace is coming off of a strong rookie season and appears to be a legitimate starting option for the team going forward. That being said, the Bills lack quality depth at the cornerback position and do not have an ideal player to defend the slot.

In today’s NFL, the slot cornerback is essentially a starter. Teams line up in nickel more than they do in base as they try to slow down high-powered passing attacks who line up with more receivers than ever before. With that in mind, having a rock solid cornerback who can consistently defend the slot is more important than ever before. I predict that the Bills will sign Justin Coleman to fill this position.

Coleman is a quick cornerback who shows impressive overall man-to-man skills. He is an extremely instinctual player who has had a lot of success as a slot defender in recent years. Adding him to the mix would take the Bills cornerback group to the next level, giving them a slot defender who they can consistently count on while White and Wallace take care of the outside.

Assuming health, this move would immediate make cornerback a position of strength for the Buffalo Bills.
