2. T Chris Clark (Carolina Panthers)

He was the second overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. The then-St. Louis Rams were hoping that University of Auburn tackle Greg Robinson could be a fixture on their offensive line for some time.  After beginning his career at left guard he moved over to left tackle but he never really rounded into form. A 42-game starter over three seasons, he would be dealt to the Detroit Lions during the 2017 offseason for a sixth-round pick in 2018. He wound up playing and starting six contests for the club.

Roughly a month later, the free-agent blocker inked a deal with the Cleveland Browns. He would suit up for all 16 games and was the starter at left tackle for the final eight outings. And the team thought enough of his play to re-sign him to a new one-year deal in February.

But this is still a franchise that in essence is looking to fill the void of the retirement of 10-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas following the 2017 season. And perhaps general manager John Dorsey finds the solution in April’s draft with one of the team’s 10 selections, which includes multiple picks in the third, fourth and fifth rounds.

Meanwhile, adding nine-year pro Chris Clark as a swing tackle could prove beneficial. He’s been a starter on both the left and right side and give the Browns a little veteran insurance in the process.
