While the San Francisco 49ers are expected to be big spenders during free agency, who are some bargain players that could be targeted?

The tampering portion of the 2019 NFL free agency frenzy is underway, and the San Francisco 49ers enter one of the most exciting times of the year with $66 million in cap space to spend. While linebacker Kwon Alexander has already inked a deal to move to the Bay Area, many more are sure to follow as San Francisco has become quite the appealing destination for free agents.

While a few big named players are bound to find their way to the 49ers this week, the team will also have a few bargains follow suit as well at a much more cost efficient number. Needing these bargain bin players to add talent and depth on a balanced budget, the Niners should take advantage of the middle of the market.

San Francisco’s most notable team needs are at wide receiver, defensive end, in the secondary, at linebacker, and on the interior of their defensive line. Given that the 49ers only have five picks to work with in the upcoming draft, they will have to budget every dollar sparingly to make the most out of the resources they have.

With that being said, here are three players on the clearance rack that could pay big dividends in San Francisco.
